Recruitment Software 101

Too often keeping up on the latest trends in business means decoding a new set of buzz words every couple of weeks. And when it comes to human resources, one of the hottest buzz words is Recruitment Software. But for all the talk about these software suites, a lot of people still don’t know exactly what they do. So how are real world businesses using these applications?

At their simplest, staffing applications do all the grunt work that comes at the early part of a candidate search. Hiring managers use the software to create and post job listings that include mission critical keywords.

As candidates begin applying, the systems flag those resumes that contain relevant keywords and experience. The rest of the resumes are filed away in a database for later use. Some systems even notify qualified candidates and schedule their initial interviews. A good staffing system tracks applicants throughout the hiring process and eventually transfers that information to their human resources file.

The general functions of theses software suites are very similar to client relationship management systems used by salespeople. In fact if you look at your system as a staffing CRM, you may have a better understanding of what it can do.

Once you see the capabilities of staffing software, you’ll wonder how you managed without it.
