The equation between knowledge and development is a virtuous one and is increasingly strategic when taking into consideration our people’s destiny. The myths of developments of the past can no longer be maintained. Reality has destroyed these simple notions of linear development and also has surpassed the one sided writing. As a result a second revolution has been forming which is done with knowledge and technology and for sometime now a third area is emerging which is the knowledge of knowledge. There is a growing knowledge of the complexity of the world and its working and there is a need for changing our understanding of the need for interdependence. There is always a correlation between the predictable and unpredictable destinies of our actions.

In many places of Latin America the rivers and lakes form borders in dividing the country from one another. In these parts the waterways flow transnational. In spite of sharing these natures’ resources, each country has its own plans and programs. As the population grows there is growing demand for water. This growing demand places pressure on the existing water sources that are shared already, thus leading to limitations and also to self isolated managements. There is need for greater harmonization and coordination between the countries sharing these large water basins. They need to work together in identifying key indicators to be watched and would let them know of the availability and variability of the waters.

There are different ways of imparting education. The traditional is more widely used than the innovative method. The traditional way is the method of passing on ideas and customs from one generation to the next. It is the way of creating a common culture in the society. The innovative method on the other hand is about the change and renewal and the exploring of the unknown and the unexpected. There are people in the society who are fond of introducing, supporting change in the system; they try to promote and to renew already existing practices. They find ways to re-do that which was thought to be obsolete. Today’s education is in need of both these practices and one has to understand what to keep and what to change.
